“For years, Patrick has worked with community leaders to improve the quality of life in the 47th district. He brings intelligence, compassion and considerable experience with the legislative process to this race,” said Barbara Favola, Chairman of the Arlington County Board. “Patrick would be an outstanding legislator for Arlington and for the entire State.”
“Patrick not only talks the talk, when it comes to serving his community, he walks the walk,” said Arlington County Board Member Mary Hynes. “His knowledge, leadership skills and ability to build consensus around critical issues will make him an extremely effective State Delegate for Arlington and all of Virginia.”
“Having served Arlington in Richmond and worked with Patrick Hope on the Community Services Board, I can’t imagine a better advocate for our community,” said former Delegate Judy Connally. “He’s strong in so many ways, but most important, he knows how to build the kind of coalitions that are the foundation of legislative effectiveness. By sending Patrick to Richmond we will truly be well represented.”
Patrick has been working in the community for years. He chaired the Community Services Board from 2005 to 2008. He is the founding President of the Buckingham Community Civic Association and has long coached Special Olympians. He has been recognized for his contributions with the James B. Hunter, III Community Hero Recognition, the Arlington Civic Federation’s Civic Hero Award, and the Virginia Association of Community Services Boards’ Joseph V. Gartlan Award. For his work with the underprivileged, Patrick has been recognized by the National Association for the Mentally Ill, the ARC and the Special.
Professionally, Patrick is the Director of Legislative Policy at the American College of Cardiology and an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Patrick received his Juris Doctor degree from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University in 2001; his Master of Arts degree from Catholic University in 1996, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University in 1993.
For 10 years, Patrick has resided in Arlington’s Buckingham neighborhood with his wife Kristen and his three daughters, Emma, Patty and Lilly.
